As the second debate for the governorship of Jalisco approaches, the political landscape reveals a competitive scenario among the candidates. According to the Poll of Polls conducted by Político.MX, Pablo Lemus of Movimiento Ciudadano maintains his lead with 46%, slightly increasing from the 45% obtained before the first debate. Meanwhile, Claudia Delgadillo, representing the coalition comprising Morena, the Labor Party, and the Green Party, holds steady at 40%, with a slight increase of one percentage point. Laura Haro, from the PAN-PRI-PRD coalition, remains in third place with 13%, experiencing a minor drop of one percentage point.

The polls reflect a scenario where Lemus and Delgadillo have solidified their positions, with Lemus maintaining a lead. Four major pollsters place Lemus between 40% and 45.1% in the preferences, while Delgadillo is favored in the remaining three polls, ranging from 38.9% to 42.7%. Haro consistently appears in third place in all polls, with voting intentions ranging from 10% to 18.8%.

These data indicate that the first debate had a limited impact on significantly altering voters' preferences, with candidates experiencing marginal advancements or regressions in percentage terms.

The second debate for the governorship of Jalisco is scheduled for Saturday, April 13 at 5:00 p.m. It will take place at the "José Rolón" Center for the Arts in Zapotlán el Grande, organized by the Electoral and Citizen Participation Institute (IEPC) of Jalisco. This date follows the first debate held on March 17.

Citizens can watch the debate live on multiple platforms, including the IEPC's YouTube channel, as well as local stations Jalisco TV and Channel 44, ensuring broad coverage and accessibility.

The debate will cover topics such as infrastructure, public spending, finance, public works, transparency, accountability, and the fight against corruption. Specific aspects including public lighting, reforestation, forest care, and support for women, children, and indigenous communities will be discussed. Tax collection, public policy evaluation, and resource monitoring will also be addressed.

Journalists Gabriela Aguilar and José Ángel Gutiérrez will moderate the event, ensuring a fair and balanced discussion among the candidates.

Jalisco holds strategic importance for Movimiento Ciudadano in the 2024 elections, being one of the states governed by politicians from that party. Enrique Alfaro, the first MC governor in history, leads the state. Despite discontent with certain factions within the party, Alfaro remains committed to his political principles and has expressed his intention to retire from politics once his gubernatorial term concludes.

As the second debate approaches, candidates and voters alike prepare for a crucial event that will further shape the trajectory of Jalisco's gubernatorial election.
